Akibahara in Tokyo

In the early 20th century Akihabara was an area that specialized in selling various wares. After World War II this area became the center of a thriving electronics and household appliances marketplace.  Since the 1980’s hobby shops, animation shops, music/record stores, and video game stores have become more prevalent. Due to urban redevelopment, many complex buildings have recently been constructed near Akihabara station.
